Meet me in Moses Lakee, Lakee . . .

. . . meet me at the fair! So, Emily Goodrich is just about one of the coolest peeps, with one of the coolest families, and is from one of the coolest cities, Moses Lake, WA. We went to the Grant County Fair for the weekend to see the World Championships of Siphon Setting. Heading out to the farm is always fantastic and this trip was no exception. We played DDR Friday night with Josh lamenting that he isn't quite up to 32nd notes. Hello! You can do two pads at once! Anyway, the next morning, under the impression that the championships were at about 8:00 AM, we piled into Emily 4Runner with Kurt and Ray somehow complaining about being smashed in with Lisa (methinks the men doth protest too much). We quickly found out we were two hours too early for the championships but just in time for tractor driving contests. Here we are in the sun!

We also saw pigs fighting and creepy cat people. Seriously, the cat people were really disconcerting. Then, on to Emily's third place in Worlds!

And, I may or may not have signed Ray up to siphon as well.

And one of the other reasons we drove out . . . SpaceBurgers. Yesiree at the 1962 World's Fair in Seattle, the Lion's club sold SpaceBurgers in honor of the newly built Space Needle. These molds are now in the hands of the people at the Grant County Fair. It turns out that it is two pieces of white bread, sloppy joe meat, thousand island dressing piped from under the counter, and then sealed into a UFO shape. They weren't bad, and we weren't sick afterwards, which considering fair food, is pretty much the best seal of approval you can get.
