In the old sailing days, when a sailor crossed the equator for the first time, they would spread a tarp out on deck, fill it with garbage and other nasty stuff, and then throw the newbies in the drink. I am happy to report that the airline does not do the same thing, though I was excited to visit the southern hemisphere. This morning we got up at 3:30 to head off to the airport. It was about four and a half hours to Houston and six more on to Lima. Here was the sign as we exited the plane. Don't know if you can see it but hello! It is a sign that says "HERE" with a picture of Peru and "THERE" with a picture of London. It was made for me. Since Lima is crazy dangerous at night, we decided to stay at the airport until our flight left at 6 AM Wednesday morning. We played Bohnanza in the Starbucks Airport . . . they really need to get some lounges at Jorge Chavez International!!!

We tried to sleep at the gate but *BING* Flight 492 to Cusco is now boarding *BING* Flight 028 to Iquitos is now boarding *BING* We have nothing to say *BING* We just like the sound of this ridiculously loud announcing system *BING* Hi everyone, we're at the airport *BING* By the way, *BING* I won Bohnanza with 20 coins. Here is picture of me winning though I don't know it yet, I would have probably been smiling more had I known.
